Millennials are the first gen of women to reject marriage to instead pile up degree upon degree, resulting in debt that, while supposed to help them get established for marriage, instead dealt them a cruel blow: They can't afford to. @SuzanneVenkerhttps://washex.am/2EC8SqN

It’s also just badly written in general. The sentence structure of that headline doesn’t even make sense.

Is this headline actually saying that women get "degree upon degree" because they expect that it will "help them get established for marriage"?!?!

OMG, the article is even worse. The problem is that, "now they're in debt and can't afford to get married". I'm laughing and crying (mostly crying) at the same time.

I didn't write that women get degrees to be marketable for marriage. I said women postpone m&m to focus on getting established financially, thinking this is necessary before getting married—only to wind up in debt instead and now can't afford to get married.

When has it ever beneficial for women to be economically dependent on men? Recent studies show it takes years off women’s lives and makes us less happy. What about the men earning degrees and racking up debt? Is feminism to blame for their student debt too?
