Robert E. Lee was a traitor who served an immoral cause. But he was also a great general. @TomRtweetshttps://washex.am/2ZEI7L5

The battle over state's rights started the war. The north refused to dissolve the union. It was always more about $$ & politics than slavery. Until the abolitionist movement got Stowe's book as a banner it slavery wasn't considered immoral by most Americans.

The Civil War started with seccession over state's rights. Jackson's dismantling of the federal bank had also pissed off the northern bankers. The negative impact on state's rights is still in effect today. Very weakened.

Was the slavery active North an ‘immoral cause?’ What was #RobertELee & the South really fighting for, it wasn’t slavery. Lo & behold, look who’s being called a traitor now. Why it’s none other than the #PresidentIfTheUnitedStates. #Trump the traitor. More name calling.
