Not sure why some Republicans think they have a better shot at winning swing districts with the most conservative candidates they can find. Neither Democrats nor Republicans have enough members to win swing districts without support from moderate middle of the road voters.

Marsha Blackburn won VERY conservative Tennessee Senate seat against moderate Dem & former Governor supported by both sides. If I follow author's logic, Democrats should rather present an extreme Socialist to win the Senate seat. Please. They would lose by way more than 10 points
