The info was already available for anybody who asked, and the "list price" is kind of pointless, since practically nobody actually pays that price. Showing list price and average price actually paid would be very helpful.

Too true, but it also says why. Having the negotiation outcomes available ahead of time will not only create increased transparency for patients looking for providers, but actually allow all insurers to negotiate better pricing. Now if only insurers could compete more...
