Ok, I should probably wait to better understand his argument, but it feels like Professor Dershowitz has gone beyond provocative and into clownish. There is no right of appeal from an impeachment conviction, because it’s a political, not legal, process.

As the text of the Constitution, and Nixon v. US (506 US 224), make quite clear there's no real chance the Court would intervene in impeachment proceedings. For anyone interested in a good summary of what is impeachable, see: http://www.libertylawsite.org/2018/07/05/constitutional-interpretation-and-the-impeachment-power/ ….

If you think there's "no real chance" you haven't been paying attention.

I don’t think Dershowitz is going by to get any invites to parties at Martha’s Vineyard this weekend.

Dershowitz is a shill for Trump. Nothing he says is necessarily factual or relevant. The media should not provide him with coverage.
