Most people have no idea the destruction (especially financial) wrought on this nation since the direct election of Senators. The Founders intended for the Senate to represent the States, NOT the people. Hence equal representation of the States in the Senate.

Why do we pay the majority of our income taxes to the Federal Government only to have a big chunk of those taxes redistributed to the States with graft and corruption along the way? IMO, the biggest percentage of our taxes should be paid to the State Government.

The Senate was supposed to represent the States, not the People. The People are represented by the House. As you discussed, the 17th Amendment has led to an explosion in the scope of the Federal Government way beyond the intent of the Founders.

Your Dad is going to die someday. And it might come sooner than you think. Call him. Spend time with him. Do a project together. Ask him for help. Fight with him over the thing you don’t want to bring up! I spent so much time with my dad and it still wasn’t enough.

EVERYONE is practicing their religion. When Ibram Kendi says, “Racism is death. Antiracism is life”, he’s appropriating a theological claim. The difference is that full atonement for sin is found at the cross in Christ, while none of the other false gods are ever satisfied.

Religion is subjective So you make a mistake when you use that as the basis for public policy Separation of church & State is part of the 1st Amendment for good reason

Everyone will have nice things to say about Tunch Ilkin now that he has died. It happens with everybody. But it’s rare to find a guy who never had anyone say anything bad about him when he was alive. Tunch was one one of those guys. What a nice guy he was. RIP.
