    So it’s pretty daunting to break out. The story I'm suggesting is a mix of my arguably noteworthy SF career, the strong sense of SF in the book and the challenges (and possibilities!) of breaking out in fiction at an advanced age with a small press book in 2020.

    from the likes of William Finnegan and Gregory Maguire, and early readers are highly enthusiastic but it’s still a first novel by a 72-year-old guy during a pandemic, during an epoch when self-publishing generates a glut of first novels.
