    The Weakest Link clip wasn't an aberration, it reflects the time. Years of hatred and apathy towards those on benefits that was promoted and worsened by politicians and the media and culminated in the introduction of Universal Credit. A cruel set of reforms that's still in place.

    One of the worst things about the Weakest Link clip is that the attitudes towards those on benefits wasn't unusual for the time. For all but one year between 2002-2013, more people agreed than disagreed that those on social security don't actually deserve help.
