The Monterey Park shooter was 72-year-old Huu Can Tran.
The shooter in Laguna Woods was 68-year-old David Chou.
I donโt know what to make of our elders getting access to and turning to guns like this.
Donโt think we donโt notice that for a tragedy in any other community in America, our Twitter feeds would be filled with condolences, but when a mass shooting of Asians occurs, I barely see any mention of it. You would think it was just any other day on here.
A gunman has murdered ten people and injured over a dozen others in Monterey Park, where tens of thousands of Asian American families had gathered to celebrate the Lunar New Year that day. He is still at large.
This should be getting way more coverage in media. A terrible act.
Itโs the pilot in the box that mattersโฆ
This 'Top Gun' shot down 4 soviet jets in 30 minutes and kept it a secret for 50 years. He was just awarded the Navy Cross.
prescient - individual can have epic outcomes; need the right mindset - constantly learn; ask questions. short-term / long-term; do no harm.

I BECAME A US CITIZEN TODAY ๐บ๐ธ
This country isn't perfect. But, having lived elsewhere in the ๐, I don't ever take it for granted that I can say what I want to say, as a woman I can do what I want to do, and I can love who I want to love. I am very proud to be an American.

! Glad you built a #CorsiRosenthalBox and found it easy as pie, one audience reminder. You can cut that cost in half if building multiple boxes, buying filters in bulk and using slightly lower cost filters. The boxes will still be effective!
NEW: After three years of covering covid, I built my own air filter. Here is the video in which I try not to get stuck in duct tape while making this Corsi-Rosenthal box. https://washingtonpost.com/health/2023/01/13/air-filter-diy-covid/โฆ
story about Year of the Rabbit/Cat, looking for folks born in these years (2011, 1999, 1987, 1975, 1963, 1951, 1939 etc.) to chat about whether they were told any stories/superstitions growing up, if they relate (or not!) ๐๐งง ada.tseng@latimes.com
and serving as a full-time volunteer for a decade, Iโm stepping back from my leadership role at the end of 2023. It's been the honor of a lifetime to lead this organization and fight for gun safety while empowering women to lead.
Research has shown attitudes are contagious.
Leaders w/a negative attitude, create toxic work environments, decreased morale/productivity/ engagement.
Leaders w/a positive attitude create a positive environment, which leads to better communication, collaboration, & performance.

Start-up life = hard won insights. Here are my top 10 for this year.
1. Doing well at a start-up is not simply about skill, it is about mentality.
A start-up mentality values action over correctness, results over process. It suits those that value autonomy over clarity.
What a year. Sharing my annual reflections here, in case useful.
7 things I learned from 2022:
1) Make non-fatal mistakes. A bunch of them, really fast. When unsure about the big decisions, ask yourself: Which choice, if I am wrong, will cause me the greatest regret?

Everyone in my extended family was able to avoid COVID-19 for 3 yrs by using simple, convenient, logical measures to reduce inhalation dose of virus-laden respiratory aerosol particles. Then several joined America & let their guard down a bit. You know what happened next ....
did what they did in 1986 when USA needed something to believe in - patriotism, can do attitude against tough odds
so missing today
Year-end roundtable: So, how did Top Gun: Maverick become such an inescapable phenomenon?
Hey Twitter buddies, just checking in and seems like the majority of things are still bad! But, small good things: my fam pulled off a COVID-safe Christmas *and* we went to a masks required theatre performance today
Kids using devices all day long are becoming serious weirdos.
