    How to make sense of Israeli politics, where dozens of parties run for parliament, & double-digits get in? There seem to be wild swings in who holds power. But if you divide all those parties into these 4 political camps, you see the system is very stable

    Since our complaint, has made its headline a bit better, but it’s still an inversion. Israel’s cities were struck by 150 rockets, sending tens of thousands in to shelters. Surely the headline should reflect this.

    oops my bad, there was one other time this occurred in the last 40 years, and it was actually quite recently: a 2-year period from 2015-2017, when 3 of Meretz’s 5 seats were held by women. in any case it’s very rare, and it’s the first time for a Palestinian party in the Knesset
