It’s almost as if France is a sovereign state deciding its own policies which many of its people disagree with. They’re not EU French police, they’re French police.

Au contraire, they are going to get exactly what they voted for - what they aren't going to get is what they thought they voted for.

Or what they were told they would get, but repeatedly warned they would not get, but still went ahead and believed the liars that they would get what they are not going to get.

Over the next few years the headline “British [insert industry/interest group here] fear they won’t get what they voted for after Brexit” will herald scores of articles. More “betrayal” of course.
