Can one be genius & expert at different point in time?

yes, of course. My interest is not so much in the genius per se (or whatever that means), but modalities of thinking which do not look for existing patters, but delight in intuiting new one.

Yes. The genius has intuition or what Aristotle called nous: insight into reality that isn’t puzzled out, solved, or proven. The expert has learned what others learn, and if he is especially “logical” he has what Aristotle called episteme or scientific knowledge.

The genius has “Eureka” moments, flashed of inspiration by leaving the grind and going for long walks, or as Newton is depicted here turning away from the tools of expertise to an unplanned experience that sparks an insight.pic.twitter.com/TgfCk9twRm

I think more often than not it is circumvention or outgrowing. Most problems we face today are not disciplinary, but transdisciplinary.

After having lived and internalized the teaching, there is intuitive understanding, and the raft is thrown away

From having no form to having no-form; from ignorance to transcendence
