    my old boss used to talk about an ideal music service that was just metadata storage, totally agnostic of streaming medium. the more they grow separate the more sense it makes to me

    Only work on things where you have intrinsic motivation. If you don’t, you’ll lose motivation when times are hard or your own goals change.

    There is no skipping of the R&D phase of a company - if you try to skip this you miss the part where you are forced to develop something differentiated. Very hard to solve this with money.

    Some of the most effective PMs I've worked with did not have technical academic background. The job is so much more about synthesizing and prioritizing and influencing than about coming up with the best technical solution to a problem. PMs are not hired to be an engineer.

    First bug I've noticed on Google Docs in maybe a decade. Downloaded to Excel and had option to save it directly to cloud (not from a browser). Maybe this has existed for awhile but I like it.
