      What would @LambdaSchool for research scientists look like? How could you fast-track a motivated and smart but inexperienced person to making original contributions to a field of knowledge? Is this even possible outside an institution?

      My answer: first step is a business model with aligned incentives. The success of the "school" has to depend on the success of the "students". That probably means starting by targeting a discipline where research proficiency is very marketable. Probably CS.

      aren't the residency programs at google, openai, uber, etc. effectively this?

      I suppose so, in many ways. Those programs do seem a bit closer to internal training than to schooling, per se, since many (most?) of the residents become full-time employees at the company that hosted the residency.
