If I have an issue with Claremont's X-Men, it's the inconsistent way public knowledge about mutants is handled. They're hated and feared in one issue, unheard of in the next. I think there's even a scene on a beach where some regular people think the X-Men must be rock stars?

I meant to say this earlier, but X-Men #11 by , and is a perfect modern superhero comic book. Also, a Cyclops and Synch stan's delight. We're deep in the mutants-throw-their-weight-around era, and I'm here for it.

I try to tell myself the world has always been a nightmare, that it's just our fixed perspective that makes today seem worse than yesterday, but I've got that old end times feeling again. My heart goes out to the victims of white terrorism in Buffalo. I could vomit.

I just want to move somewhere where I have a ton of friends who drop in to visit all the time, bring food, only talk about comic books, and only watch reruns of Buffy and the Simpsons and 5 hour YouTube nostalgia streams of old commercials. Is that so much to ask?
