It's the wrong question. Why do draft notices even exist? We haven't drafted anyone in 44 years and we never will again. Abolish the dept.

That's a good point However, now that QT+ folks are allowed to enlist & gender parity is becoming more common, maybe we should institute some form of mandatory civil service (americorps, peace corps, or military) for everyone, instead of doing away w/ the draft option altogether

sorry Davy in the grown up world, each person or entity is responsible for themselves, it is up to the Gov to defend our Nation, hence they recruit, it is up to you to decide if you want to vote or not, it is called "Choice" & that choice is why our Constitution is revered by all

Sorry MC; Mr. Hogg raises a salient point. Many civilized countries do not consider voting a privilege, but rather a duty, and thus mandate the duty: giving workers the day off, etc. Then again, those same nations provide health care & sensible gun laws. Wish the U.S. did

I live in the Deep South. TN, unlike other states has closed primaries, so even though I’m a registered voter, I’m barred from voting for republicans even if I wanted to, because I’m a registered democrat. That’s not laziness, that’s a sophisticated form of suppression
