I think this is an excellent idea. If banks have silent alarms to protect their money, the least we can do is install silent alarms to help protect our children.

Now you are actually making since Panic alarms. Although instead of running out like a fire alarm. they should automatically lock down every door in the school.

What about closed circuit TVs showing the hallways? If every class had a TV, they could monitor, report where shooter is. Maybe ending it faster? Just a thought.
