Most importantly were not politicians but agencies who were repeatedly warned and warned and warned.. and then the creeps who sat outside while it happened. This isnt an NRA thing.
In my opinion it is because the NRA spends millions to fund campaigns of politicians that won’t pass any common sense gun laws or even fund research into gun violance

David, in 2016, http://OpenSecrets.org shows NRA spent $3.2m on lobbying& $1.1m on donations to fed candidates. His Everytown spent $1.4m lobbying & Bloomberg gave $24m to fed candidates. Bloomberg outspent NRA on state & local elections&also $28m just on 2 state gun initiatives
