No....protect but understand that schools are not correctional facilities. Understand they support teachers/classrooms but are not, themselves, teachers. Understand that police must have same training in student rights; special ed/educational law; de escalation as do teachers

You are aware that your personal school experience may not be reflective of all students? I went to a majority white school and was frequently physically accosted for racial reasons, soon as I defended myself I got suspended. This is a major issue.

I am so very sorry white people made your school experience so bad.
I truly mean that. It is NOT right to have to experience racial prejudices in the USA (or anywhere)!!
They were pieces of
for doing that to you. My apology to you.

Inner City School Teacher here. Your personal experiences aren't statistics and you're absolutely wrong.pic.twitter.com/oMwjPXOqVM

Former inner city student here; former inner city school behavioral consultant here; former inner city born & raised here....those flawed 'personal experiences aren't statistics' and are not only unconditionally wrong - but. more often, racist ignorancehttps://thinkprogress.org/donald-trump-tweets-fake-racist-and-wildly-inaccurate-murder-statistics-ca5859d2bb1/#.6zruhverf …

Kids dont get suspended or go to jail for no reason, regardless of color.

I understand wanting to believe that all kids get exactly the treatment they've earned, that every kid gets what they deserve, but disciplinary statistics don't support it. We can't believe fictions just because we want to feel like if we're perfect nothing bad can happen.

This is true for students with disabilities as well. From kindergarten to 12th grade (if they make it) students with disabilities and of color are the highest percentage of discipline and suspensions! AND for minor offenses mostly! This creates the school to prison pipeline! Sad!

When Keith is on his 9th ISS for disrupting class it might be a good idea to let the other students focus on class permanently.
