I’ve taught English for 20 years, and the hardest most courageous thing that students find difficult is to express their honest emotions. That you do so, David in the face of such animosity & after your ordeal gives me hope for the future.

You n me both... Got in from classes, flipped on the TV, and wound up watching it and was stunned. Figured it was an anomaly but still shook... first time I had to confront that as a possibility since I was going into teaching at the time...
David, you will get through this. Missing the dead and not forgotten is human. Loving your friends and fellow students, who are still here, enough to fight for their right not to live in fear of being gunned down at school is part of the healing.
