Yes it actually is. You can not arrest someone for practicing their first amendment right unless it turns violent.
I believe they were arrested after being told to leave and not doing so
It doesn’t matter if they were asked to leave. If it’s public property, in which it was, they have every right to protest the way they did.

I was arrested at the Pentagon a bazillion years ago after being told to leave. I was pulled through the line by the police and charged with 'breaking a police line'? Spent 5 days in Alexandria City jail. They make the rules.
You can legally stand on public property and protest.
And yet, they persisted.
From what I heard on periscope they would be able to pay a fine of 50 and be released. No jail time no record. But again, I just heard someone say that on periscope and that is a DC protest deal was my take on it.
