Oregon has a “motor voter” law where you are automatically registered to vote when you get your drivers license AND has been entirely vote-by-mail for 20 years. Happy OR Primary day!

Washington is a little behind Oregon. Most of the state has been all-mail-in voting since 2005 (the state made it official in 2011), and we started automatic registration I think about 4 years ago.

David being taxed and being drafted are not a choice. Voting is. If you want to vote, register yourself. Take at least an ounce of responsibility in your life.

*sigh* Someone else doesn't get the point of hid post.

Works quite well in other parts of the world.

In Canada, you have the option of registering to vote by just ticking a box on your tax return
-
Canada also allows you to check online to ensure you are registered. It takes about a minute.

When my kids were born, I filled out a form to get their birth certificate. One box I checked was to be assigned a Social Security card. They should also have a box for voter registration. Give you a card that you activate on your ,18th birthday with your current address.
