Pandemics continue as long as humanity exists, we must significantly increase our investment to combat disease to match their cost to humanity. We have the opertunity to save billions of lives in future generations if we actually learn our lesson from this.

I'm really old, but the US hasn't managed to win any wars in my lifetime other than Grenada (yeah, we actually invaded Grenada). Maybe we should prepare for pandemics more seriously than we prepare for war, like with the purpose being winning instead of just graft and death.
