It’s amazing how much work the Democratic presidential candidates are willing to do for the Republican Party. The presidential candidates should know better than to fight each other publicly. When people are on your same side criticize in private, praise in public
If you don’t know how to bite your tongue and not fight against the people on the same side as you— you’re not going to be able to lead the Democratic Party, let alone the United States. The Dem Party is a huge tent it needs to be lead by example though unity not division.
Republicans learned this lesson long ago when Reagan came up with the 11th commandment for his 1966 gubernatorial campaign saying: “Thou shalt not speak ill of any fellow Republican.”

Democratic primary campaigns (& I've observed them for more than 40 years) can get very bitter & rough. that very much included 2008 & 2016. It's more or less inevitable -- important to unify party afterwards, but important for progress voices to get heard & that means conflict
