David, The oppressive barriers to owning a gun that you propose would mean that well off people like me can have guns but most poor single moms in Chicago can’t afford one. That’s not equality. That’s not what our founders intended. Everyone deserves the right to self defense.
Let’s build an America with an actually well regulated militia to provide for the common defense, where anyone that wants a gun has to have at least 6 months of training, a license and insurance.

A gun will cost somewhere between $300 and $400 plus tax plus ammunition. $500+ dollars is WELL BEYOND the usual purchasing capacity for non-essentials for most American families. If you’re truly worried about equality , then push for economic reform, not against gun control.

That is the way to do it. I own guns. I have absolutely no problem doing this. It would also start a new industry and create jobs. Insurance companies are experts at vetting. Not willing to put forth that time, effort and $? You should not own guns. This needs to happen.

I am a gun owner and I have multiple problems with this infringements on my rights, essentially making my rights and exercise thereof subject to the whims of an overreaching government and dipshits like Hogg.

They shouldn't even hand out guns at all until the age of 35 and after training after background check after licenses and insurance. I blame hunters for the easy access of guns I think the sport of hunting was really just a front to be able to purchase guns easily.
