The young people are fucking mad and we will be showing up in 2020

Politicians don't lead, David, they follow. If you want them to listen to you, you (collectively)have to show up at the polls in equal numbers to other voting blocs. When young people are voting at a similar %, they will be listened to. It's not flattering, but it's reality.

AGREE! Start rallying the troops to register and vote. We need you as much as you need us to make a change.

The reason young people don't matter in our society is because they don't vote. If young people would start voting, politicians would pay attention to them. I'm not saying I like this, but it's fact.

Give them a candidate that gets them enthusiastic enough to vote. Say one who wants universal healthcare, education, a progressive green deal.

Not really, it's your job to show up every 2-4 years for every congressional, senate, governor, and the presidential race, not including the local elections and special elections. And based on data, young people haven't been giving a shit about elections. Fact.
-
Those who don't participate in the process, don't get to complain about the results. Keep in mind I'm not including those who are victims of voter suppression tactics who otherwise would vote if they could.

It's important to realize that older people have been mistreated too. Older and younger generations need to come to terms with this fact. We've been exploited and pitted against each other. That needs to end.
-
It's also a class issue. Republicans have successfully pitted people against each other who have common economic worries w/ wedge issues. Particularly w/race. If we're busy growling at each other, we won't notice them stealing us blind. That's what's happened in the last 30+yrs.
