Young people don't have time for these unpaid positions that mostly have no impact on them. They're just trying to get/keep a job. School boards are a shit show. And, having motivation to be on one without having kids of your own is asking a lot.
We need more young people on school boards and city councils.

I couldn't agree more. That's why I ran for my local school board this year. Unfortunately, I didn't win, but I brought some of the important issues to the table that might have been overlooked had I not run!

idk if you know how this stuff works, but anyone can be in these positions and also these positions are in desperate need of the generation they're directly effecting
