There’s a reason why when learn about the 1920s we read Great Gatsby and not about the massive reserance of white nationalism, beginning of mass incarceration/mandatory minimums, burning down of Black Wall Street or the brith of a massive federal police state.

As a former history major at FIU, I learned that your high school textbooks on history are barely worth the paper they're printed upon. Luckily, I had an outstandingly subversive AP American History teacher named (RIP) Howard Wimmers who used the book to teach us about its lies.

Maybe that's why history keeps repeating. I noticed an "America First" sign. My advice for anyone seriously interested in history is to read as many books on history in addition to the text books as possible. The more you read the more you understand.
