The proudly antidemocratic direction of the Republican Party is a shame on our nation.

Don't do the crime if you can't pay the fine! Felons should never get their rights back after taking or infringing on someone else's rights.
-
Rights should only be infringed upon if granting those rights is actually a public safety concern. Please explain how ex-felons voting is a public safety concern.

That’s against the law. They’re not allowed to do that. They need to be challenged in court. It’s in the Constitution. No poll tax. Hope someone challenges this.
-
It's not a poll tax.

This would be a good time for a patriotic philanthropist to block the Republicans in Florida and pay off the fees, fines and restitution so that people who have paid their debt to society can vote! This might be a game changer in Florida!

David, please understand my frustration in the over use of a word, especially in this case, that must cease in our dialogue: "basically". The Bill passed in Florida ? IS, a Poll Tax. Money is required to be paid, before a person can vote.

I think there should be a fundraiser to help them. I truly think those fines should be an issue but if the GOP is going to be asshats about this, we have to work together to fight back
