Big tobacco DID have a say in tobacco laws. That’s why it took so long to have ANY (weak) regulations at all and why a product that has such well documented and devastating health effects is still so readily available.

I am totally on your side, but unfortunately until your country elects people who absolutely are not on the
@NRA payroll, nor take donations from them or anyone affiliated with them, this type of stuff will never end. -
That's true for any lobbying group that donates to politicians. Campaign finance needs to be overhauled, but everyone who can do it is part of the problem. I include both parties in that.
