Child separation is crude and inhumane.
It’s not a partisan issue it’s just plain wrong.

This morning I was in the airport and heard a little boy holding a teddy bear calling for his mother yelling out and looking around in all directions goin “mommy? mommy? mommy?” He found his mom but I all I could think about r the 1000s of kids in the camps asking the same rn

I remember how afraid I felt as a child in those brief moments where I thought I was separated from my mother in the grocery store. Imagine that feeling going on and on and on.

That terror as a small child when you think you’ve been isolated is traumatic. For most of us it’s a small momentary separation but we all remember it happening. The US is intentionally inflicting this on little kids as a policy, it’s atrocious.

When my daughter wakes up in the middle of the night crying for us, I can't help but think of those kids as well, I hug and kiss my daughter knowing there's 100s of other kids that don't have the luxury of their parents being able to do the same.

My children are grown and I remember those few times my heart skipped a beat when I lost them, even for a few seconds. The trauma applies to parents too.
