I had to move to Europe to find the truth about American Civil Rights history and history in general. Our education system is designed to teach...but to do so with a predetermined message in mind that is sometimes not always the truth - or is a limited version thereof.
It’s incredibly disturbing how many young people don’t know about the murder of Fred Hampton and other civil rights leaders by the government because it’s still not taught in our history books.

The history of civil rights in America should be an integral and essential part of the curriculum. Almost a separate course from history. And compulsory.

of course it should. that's the major point in having this country, breaking away from tyranny of royalty to a greater empowerment of the people. sad thing most people are educated by "broadcasters" who still glorify royalty and downplay the civil rights struggle.

Correct. Several people in the Texas Board of Education do not have college degrees and the head guy Mike Morath is a tech guru and not little educational background and appointed by the governor.

Everyone should take the time to read up on Fred Hampton and his assassination. Also, he was only 21 when they drugged him, dragged him out of bed, and shot him in the back of the head even though he was barely conscious, all in front of his pregnant girlfriend.
