Nobody owned an AR in Jesus' mortal time, but they did own swords. Christ warned of the consequences of living your entire life by the sword. But he also gave this advice: If you do not have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one. Luke 2:35-38 if I recall correctly.

In all honesty, Jesus regarded the sword with loathing, but at no time did he advocate disarming anyone, even those bent on his destruction. Conflicted, I realize. So in the end I will follow the only advice he gave about owning a sword (or AR).
