That's what he's talking about. People like us who were there. Who volunteered. Who lost friends and loved ones. (My friend was giving birth to twins when her husband was killed in the attack.)

That image is all over TV every year on the 9/11 anniversary. Yes it triggers memories for those of us that lost friends and family. But hearing that day called merely "something" triggered anger in us as well.

But she’s not wrong. Some people did something. It was something bad, horrible, life changing for millions, etc but it was some people did something. The full context of her speech and the audience explains why she referred to it as that. It wasn’t to downplay anyone’s hurt.

Can we take a moment to think of how triggering the words Omar spoke about 9/11?
-
There are many different ways Omar could have said something about 9/11 then the way she did. If she is getting back fire because of the words she used. For her to tell America to forget about 9/11that was wrong. She knows right from wrong. Her words are her enemy.

Maybe we could send him pictures and videos of that day psychically. And I just did!

Thank you - I won’t even watch documentaries about it all these years later. What’s the point? They are NEVER
accurate even down to the weather description. I remember EVERYTHING like it was yesterday @davidhogg111 -
I can’t watch them and I wasn’t even there. I can’t imagine what kind of hell it must be for those who were.
to you. - 1 more reply
