16 year olds shouldn't vote. They don't know shit. They have no skin in the game. Stupid idea.https://twitter.com/RepPressley/status/1103262449845776384 …

I am honored & excited to be introducing my very 1st amendment on the House floor, an amendment to #HR1, the #ForthePeopleAct. My amendment will lower the voting age from 18 to 16, allowing our youth to have a seat at the table of democracy. #16toVote pic.twitter.com/67IzCtUh8k

Sounds like a great excuse to fund their civics education 🤗

Actually, I think the voting age should be raised to 21.

You know, it actually was 21 until 1971 when the 26th amendment was based by Nixon. One of the driving forces behind this was Vietnam, as those being drafted couldn’t vote. Why should the voting age be raised though?

I'm 50 this year. Time to admit that my generation screwed up. Royally. Time to fix it.

I remember we had civics discussions from fifth grade on. In seventh grade social studies, we were taught the three branches of government. Do that again, + mandatory civics in high school.

18 is the age of majority. It's when a child legally becomes an adult. It's the appropriate age to grant the right to vote. I've not heard a good argument to support lowering it.

First our generation did a great job of raising the next generation. Great kids. But doesn’t me they are ready to vote. Many are still into video games, not yet paying taxes not able to serve. Nothing wrong with waiting a few years.

Please explain to me, a video game developer, why playing video games should disqualify one from being able to vote?
