Who's claiming the @NRA cares about gun safety? Anyone who says or believes that is an idiot who believes spin & lies over their own eyes & ears.
If the NRA cares about gun safety why did they:
-make it A CRIME for the CDC to research gun safety? 
-make sure guns are not under the consumer protection act? 
-make it against federal law to sue gun manufactures that put every day gun owners at risk?

Just touching on your 3rd item. When was the last time a knife manufacturer was sued because of a stabbing? What about car manufacturers died because of driver error i.e. using the car in a manner not specifically meant to be used?

Knifes sizes are regulated by the government and people sue car manufacturers all of the time.
