If you actually want to make our schools safer start off by reducing class size and paying our teachers a living wage. Militarizing our schools will do 2 things -Grow the school to prison pipeline -Get more students killed

I'm slightly confused how putting more security measures would kill students? I don't mind raising the wage of teachers and reducing class sizes but that doesn't change if a school is an easy target... Please explain?

(1) Also, students aren't just affected by the presence of law enforcement. Law enforcement become more necessary from the school's perspective when they are understaffed; when there aren't enough teachers to handle even minor disciplinary issues, they simply call the school cop

Also hire more nurses, counselors, and psychologists - so we can identify at-risk students and try to help them

Works in Canada. A system with people to talk to at all levels of schooling can help issues be worked out

I grew up in a country where even police don’t carry guns. Only special forces/police do. The notion of getting shot anywhere never ever crossed our minds. Here is a different story of course.
