I can guarantee that gun owners helped write the bill and voted for it. Not all gun owners are beholden to the bloody hands NRA.

We have firearm divestiture in the State of Louisiana now (effective Oct 2018) for domestic violence cases and for protective orders for the life of the order. Go NM go!

A research question: how many of those opposing the bill are domestic abusers themselves? They are afraid that they will lose their guns if this passes. It's not just about gun sales for the NRA - they are protecting themselves and their pals, who would fail a background check.
