I’d like to know why the dad was video taping and not helping his daughter and defuse situation. As a parent, recording on my phone would not be my first, second or third thought on this.

Kids at every school (like mine) get into bad fights. It isn’t the students job to stop it or we can get hurt. The teachers can’t do anything or they can get hurt. It is up to the campus police to do something. This isn’t over policing it is keeping the rest of the students+staff

Teachers and staff don't get involved because of "getting hurt". They dont get involved due to civil lawsuits costing their jobs if they touch a student. Having volunteered at a high school and work at a college this is something faculty have to take into account.

Maybe teaching them some respect for the teachers and law enforcement might be a good start it seems like kids today have no respect for anyone and then they’re surprised when they face the music!!!

I can tell you now that if I see an officer tasing someone my age then I WILL NOT have respect for them. I don’t think we have the full story if this, but unless there was a weapon in hand then a taser is not needed.
