In an average month, 50 women in the US are shot to death by intimate partners. A background check stopping domestic abusers from buying guns could have saved their lives. When a domestic abuser argues with a gun, they are 5x more likely to kill someone.https://everytownresearch.org/guns-domestic-violence …

TL;DR: Policy change > thoughts + prayers. Both Democrats and Republicans die from gun violence. Bullets don't discriminate and neither should our legislators. Let’s bring the people’s pressure to Congress and create the change this country needs to save lives.

point is that cumulative effect of gun control (look at MA w/one of lowest rates of any US state & LOTS of gun control) is in positive direction. May not be a cure-all, but neither are laws against murder & terrorism, No one suggests such laws be held to such strict litmus tests

You don't know what you're talking about. It's the same background check in any other state. The only difference is instead of the firearms dealer going directly to the FBI Background Check System. They have to go thru a bureaucratic department in Connecticut just to do the same.

And if a person is being flagged at the state level and not the federal level, Connecticut is not following federal law by updating the NCIS with the required Data.

Las Vegas, MSD, Sandy Hook, Gifford shooters all went through background checks and were still given the ok for a gun. It's not the check it's the LACK of information.
