You’ve had an impressive year, David, but what still stands out to me the most was your reporting skills during and immediately after the shooting. You had no idea at the time if you’d survive and your first instinct was that of a reporter to document for others. /1

I think a lot of people missed your accounts of the event that same night/the next day, but the reason Laura Ingraham and others had you on their show was because you delivered your accounting of events with the intelligence and efficiency of a veteran journalist./2

No other witness had the wherewithal to document the events as they were unfolding as you did and I can’t imagine many who would under such dire circumstances. You earned your college acceptances on that night alone and deserve every ounce of success you’ve achieved. Congrats!/3x
