If protecting children is not part of a security guard’s job at a school, then what is the job description?!

I have to disagree. If that officer had attempted to intervene, there would have been one more fatality. He had a duty to provide security, but not a duty to commit suicide.

This guy didn't even attempt anything. He didn't go in to assess what's happening. He knows NOW that there's a guy with an AR but not then. He freaked out. Anyway, he got scared. He should admit it and not claim that he didn't have any duty to intervene.

Every day the families saw an armed security guard at the school. They trusted him. They felt a sense of security and safety that would envelope their children. He was a mirage.

David, im on your side on this subject, but the supreme court has ruled multiple times in favor of law enforcment's ability to Choose Not to engage in dangerous situations. Cops are under NO obligation to risk thier lives to save Anyone... Sorry buddy.

What do you say to the family of the coach who died trying to save his students? His duty was to teach sports. He gave his life for those kids. Shame on you, Mr Peterson.
