Stand your ground is a right where a person may defend one's self and his or her family against threats by applying lethal force, regardless of whether safely retreating from the situation might have been possible. Don’t threaten people or break into houses. It’s simple.

And an example of a law we don't need, since you are allowed to kill someone in self-defense by default. The difference is that self-defense requires you to attempt to avoid a situation if it is possible. Stand Your Ground only requires imminent threat to life.
