My mom had to come pick me up from school in 8th grade because I was wearing a tank top and the “straps were too thin.” Schools can discipline whatever they choose according to their guidelines and handbook. This is an excuse made by a racist school district.

A teacher told me Mexican girls weren’t allowed to wear red because we would be considered gang affiliates. But the white girls were never told anything when they wore red. Schools pick and choose all the time. That same teacher is now a superintendent. Ridiculous.

Could we place blame on administrators and school boards please? Teachers are following school policy and trying not to get disciplined themselves. I used to have to send flip flop wearing kids to the office, male or female. Not my choice.

If someone brought the aforementioned offensive flip flops to my attention I would say I’ll look after that and then conveniently forget. I don’t and won’t blindly follow stupid rules.

To the people wondering about 45's accomplishments? He has succeeded in bringing out the very worst in some people with his persistent attempts to normalize and encourage racism and division.

I think it says more about the children and parents more than the schools. The kids have to WANT to learn. But the community also has to support those ideas. If mom and dad didn't say anything about this, it's deeper than just teaching history...
