I’d say that $21 Billion is an underestimate. If you include anti-missile systems and other nuclear-related weapons it's over $50 Billion a year wasted. @AtomicAnalyst: Want to give us the full cost of nuclear weapons?

The current annual cost to sustain and upgrade the entire nuclear arsenal is about $32B and rising. Ballistic missile defense costs are $11.5B and rising. Managing and cleaning up the toxic and radioactive "back end" of the arms race is $5.6B. Total = ~$49.1B (cc:

21 Billion on nukes IS keeping kids safe. You know, from being nuked by someone else. They used to teach this when I was in High School. It was commonly referred to as MAD. Mutually Assured Destruction.
-
MAD is the ultimate failure at the end of a long line of bad policy and failed diplomacy. It doesn’t keep anybody safe beyond insuring that everybody dies. It deserves ridicule far more than it deserves praise.

It’s deeply concerning how people like you will compare Trump with Hitler but then think that WE the people should be disarmed. Makes no sense

Disturbing that we’re spending on something that actually makes America safer?
