It doesn't exist because congress is in dc... although an idea that I've seen that actually makes some sense is trim dc down to just the little area that is the white house, the supreme court, congress, and maybe just a little more and then split the rest into maryland/virginia

DC has more residents than Wyoming and Vermont. The only reason they don’t want to make it a state is because it is majority Democrats.

Actually, the entire US needs actual congressional representation that is for the people, rather than for corporations and the wealthy.

Corporations and the wealthy have NO power they don't get donated from conservative voters.

Disagree.
#DistrictOfColumbia should be whittled down to GOVERNMENT. The LAST thing government needs in DC is more representation in DC. The last thing the COUNTRY needS is Govt buying votes in immediate proximity. Residential areas should be part of surrounding municipalities. -
SIGH... DC IS the surrounding municipality around the feds but most of us don’t work for the feds. Happy to give the Mall and federal buildings back in order to get congressional votes in the remaining residential, commercial, and industrial areas of the 700,000 person District.

Yes, they do. Paying taxes w/o representation caused the first tea party and is anathema to our democracy based on the right for all taxpayers' to have representation. Paying federal taxes but not being able to vote is simply unfair and is one of those inequities we CAN fix
-
And to add insult to injury, the entire Congress has veto power over how we spend our own tax money.
