I had an interesting conversation today when the question of congressional age limits came up. Do you think there should be an age limit on congressmen, congresswomen, and congressthem?

I’ve wondered this even about voting but there are more millennials than boomers eligible to vote now. If we showed up at the polls in the numbers they did, we have the power to make the changes we want without restricting right to run or vote (which could be a slippery slope).

I don't think the problem in politics is age, though. People should be able to work as long as they are physically able and want to. The problem in politics is
#TermLimits. Without them, we have career politicians, who are easier to bribe & are less connected to their voters. -
With them you get the worst grifters, no institutional memory, no long term planning, you get repetitive attempts to do what failed since no one remembers, and you throw out the dedicated public servants with the self interested. They don't work. Make things WORSE.

Age restrictions and term limits are less useful than mandatory voting (with some incentives) and national holidays to vote. Here’s a tip: if ALEC, the Heritage Foundation or Cato are for it, do some cursory research and you’ll know why to be against it.
