Also, why is it culturally acceptable for any elected official to take money from special interests? In America we call it campaign donations the rest of the world calls it what it is, a bribe.

What's worse, in D.C. elected officials are rated on their "fundraising prowess" from special interests. Refusing those donations is looked down upon.

In the old days, candidates were given equal air time on TV. It was free, paid for by taxpayers. Politians did not have to raise millions of dollars for campaigns. A free repeating 5 minute spot on every channel + free political YouTube type space. We have legal bribery now!
