Why do you refuse to debate people who hold opposing views to the ones you hold?

As a former debate captain I understand that value of debate but realize that it often times ends up dividing us even more. I think what’s more important is that people have civil discussions and not debates. This country is already divided enough.

I understand your stance on that. Let’s have a discussion sometime soon, David. I think our generation would benefit from two high-profile voices, on both sides of the fence, talking this out. We both want to keep schools safe. Let me know if you’re down. Many would listen.
