People are usually born with it. But I’ve seen many people missing that piece these days.

We must help reWire the brains of those who have limited mirror neuron involvement and almost no oxytocin (bonding chemical) released. We must learn to be human again~ paradox of choice and immediate gratification stunt neuroplastic elastic. Take heart~ beacons are everywhere

I don’t think forcing understanding of empathy actually teaches empathy. That’s like saying abuse teaches someone to be kind. It can but it leaves scars. Kindness teaches kindness. Treat others how you’d like to be treated. That’s said for good reason.

Indeed, the now famous Kauai study on resilience, while not focused on eq, shows that, even under adverse circumstances kids can thrive, if there is eg least some person that nurtures them emotionally. . This shows the extreme importance of kindnesshttps://psychcentral.com/lib/learning-from-resilient-kids/ …

dave, let me help you REMEMBER. a baby(all babies)are born as empathic beings, it is they're ENTIRE base of communication+understanding with the world. then, WE THE PEOPLE, beat/train/drill out all of OUR empathy 2 create an empty vessel in which 2 INSTALL GREED+COMPETITIVENESS!
-
Babies need to bond with mothers, need to breastfeed, nurturing the humanity that is where empathy and philanthropy come from. No bond, and bonds broken are so traumatic and breed mistrust and hate.

Empathy is part of Emotional Intelligence (EQ) and some people are just not capable of experiencing it. It’s difficult to cultivate. It seems you are born with it or you aren’t.https://psychcentral.com/lib/what-is-emotional-intelligence-eq/ …

Actually studies say it can be improved upon unlike your intelligence. IQ cannot change. EQ can.
